Located on a 4,500 sq.ft plot with an adjoining plot of 4,500 sq.ft in a posh Gurugram locality. The design brief was to create more space, improve the building exterior, landscape the garden on the adjoining plot and refurbish the basement into a party entertainment zone.

 

Alterations and additions were carried out to create two more additional floors and to remodel the existing spaces so as to take care of the growing needs of the family. 

 

The exterior has been done up in deck wood and flamed steel grey granite. The huge 50 feet high blank wall touching the garden plot was patterned in rough gwalior stone with a series of uplighters creating interesting patterns on the wall. The basement which was humid dark and dull was designed to create an entertainment and party space, a new access to this space was created from the garden and the rear sunken court was done up in large glasses to provide light, ventilation and a sense of space, the sandstone waterfall, the solid wood pergola and green walls of the backyard brings in enormous amount of freshness into the rather dead space. 

 

The expansive well appointed bar forms the focal area of the entire space, the beautiful back cabinet, onyx stone and leather counter makes the bar unit very interesting. The entire rear wall with the trickling waterfall done up in dark black granite serves as a great background for the dance parties, with two large movable screens, high tech sound system make the basement resonate. The gold leaf wall, stained burnt wood wall panelling, furniture and other woodworks further add to the beauty of this space. 

 

The garden has been designed to provide a large green lawn for outdoor parties on one end and on the rear side is a space provided for parking of luxury cars. The access to the basement is through a covered porch and a tensile structure hovering over it, making this entire space dramatic. Besides an open bar, solid wood furniture, Buddha with bamboo backdrop and a sandstone relief are some of the other features of this area.
